WHAT DOES A WITCH SMELL LIKE?
Okay, so we know Katy Perry is not what comes to mind when we think of witchy or dark, but her perfume Mad Potion is a romantic witches dream with its frosted magenta potion bottle complete with irredescent lid. While the fragrance is advertisied with a magician theme it's easy to see that the bottle itself is modeled after a classic love potion bottle. The perfume smells exactly the way you'd expect a love potion to smell, floral with hints of vanilla.
As far as pop stars being in touch with their dark sides go, Lady Gaga is about as pitch black as you can get - much like her fragrance "Fame" It was my first perfume with a hint of musk. Not only do I love her art but Lady Gaga also seems like a pretty awesome person. Not only is her marketing for this fragrance flawless, I'm also totally digging the aesthetic in this short film with the fragrances namesake. She's definitely an artist and her career continues to grow. Of course the gorgeous grenade shaped bottle and unique dark fluids are also selling points for me, but also the sophistication of this fragrance which has a more mature scent than other perfumes I wear.
Would this really be a goth blog if I don't make a throwback reference to the iconic and much stigmatized goth staple Hot Topic. Because that's where you can get your black little claws on these next fragrances. Created by Blackheart Beauty these are on the affordable end of a budget and if you're anything like me who goes through perfume like crazy you don't want to be spritzing your best on the daily.
The classic skull perfume, a punk/goth favorite for years. These bottles also by Blackheart Beauty are collection worthy, in various fragrances and styles there's something for every dark soul.
