Birth of Violence - Chelsea Wolfe Album Review

The sixth album from Chelsea Wolfe has just landed and it's a melancholy masterpiece. Birth of Violence is romantic, haunting and moody.

This album is softer than it's predecessors but it still packs a punch; the vocals are slow and mellow, with the odd scratch of a guitar string and some haunting echoes this is the perfect easy listening or background music with a serious goth vibe. Her minimalist style translates to her music where everything in the tracks has been painstakingly curated for a very specific sound which stays consistent throughout the album. The heaviest track on the album is probably Deranged for Rock & Roll with a heady bass line and some vintage drums this track is much more of an epic buildup than a banger. The album is Chelsea refining her sound and excelling at her very specific iconic style.
